OCTA and Caltrans continue to make progress on the 91 Westbound Lane Widening Project between State Route 57 (SR-57) and Interstate 5 (I-5). As part of the project, OCTA and Caltrans are widening the westbound bridge over Acacia Avenue in Anaheim and constructing new retaining and sound walls in the area.
The Capital Projects Outreach Team uses a variety of techniques to keep residents updated. Recently, the team hosted a project information table in Anaheim’s Acacia neighborhood. The curbside meeting gave residents an opportunity to learn about upcoming construction work in their immediate neighborhood, including pile drilling and retaining wall construction.
OCTA’s team interacted with area residents in both English and Spanish and responded to questions related to temporary construction easements, hours of operations, scope of pile drilling, potential closures, pedestrian access and related matters. As part of this neighborhood outreach effort, OCTA mailed notices to approximately 50 households.
The third in a series of 91 projects, this segment will add 4 miles and is scheduled for completion in late 2015. Working together, OCTA and Caltrans have added 18 lane miles to the 91. Learn more.
