Cities throughout Orange County are eligible to apply for funds to enhance street operations and reduce congestion following the approval of a $40 million call for projects by the OCTA Board of Directors.
The Regional Capacity Program will provide up to $32 million and the Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program will provide up to $8 million in competitive funding. Both programs are funded by Measure M (also known as OC Go), the half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements.
The Regional Capacity Program funds intersection improvements and other projects to help reduce congestion. The signal synchronization program provides funding to time traffic lights on streets and roads that run through multiple cities throughout Orange County.
Project applications are due on or before Oct. 18. Based on the selection criteria, projects will be recommended for board consideration in the spring. Learn more about the call for projects here.
