Service Animal Training in Anaheim on October 7

On Saturday, October 7, Service Animal Training Day will be back in Anaheim at ARTIC. Each spring and fall, OCTA offers free training to help service animals become more familiar with public transportation. When these special companions are comfortable with the sounds, movement and layout of a bus or train, it increases the independence and confidence of their handlers.

Trainers and their animals can take unlimited rides on an OC Bus, including the sights and sounds of Downtown Disney District® and Anaheim Garden Walk®, along a special route designed to provide the best and most complete experience. In addition, participants can ride a Metrolink train; standard Metrolink fares apply.

OCTA launched Service Animal Training in 1995 and is one of the only public transportation agencies to offer it. GO Team Therapy and Service Dogs, a nonprofit that trains people and animals across the country to assist first responders and provide comfort, travels from Colorado each year to take part in OCTA’s special program.
