Orange County Third Graders Learn about History and Transportation

OCTA joined approximately 10,000 third-graders from more than 100 local schools on Nov. 13 for the 9th annual Gift of History celebration at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.

The educational program teaches students about Orange County’s rich history in an interactive and entertaining manner, and includes presentations from elected officials, business, and regional education leaders.

OCTA Director and Orange County Supervisor Todd Spitzer was on hand to welcome the assembly.

The third-graders also discovered how to get around Orange County by using public transit. As they entered the stadium, they were welcomed by two OCTA buses. To create awareness and encourage use of public transportation, OCTA officials showed videos about how to ride the bus and train and passed out related educational materials.
