OCTA Presented with Awards at WTS Gala

OCTA was recently honored with two awards at the 31st annual Women's Transportation Seminar-Orange County (WTS-OC) Awards and Scholarships Gala in Anaheim.

CEO Darrell Johnson served as master of ceremonies for the event, which was also attended by Chairman Tim Shaw and Director Barbara Delgleize.

OCTA was presented with the Employer of the Year Award. For more than 40 years, OCTA and its predecessor, the Orange County Transit District, have been involved in WTS and today more than 31 percent of OCTA managers are female and nearly 39 percent of the executive team is comprised of women. With 35 employees who are WTS current members, OCTA recognizes the value of this organization and encourages active participation from its staff, both men and women.

OCTA also received the Innovative Transportation Solutions Award for the Old Towne West Metrolink Parking Structure in Old Towne Orange. Incorporating input from community workshops and collaboration with local stakeholders, OCTA designed a structure that blends in with historic structures in California’s largest residential historic district.
