OCTA Board Members Appointed for 2017

In 2017, the OCTA Board of Directors will welcome back three current members and greet four new members following elections by the City Selections Committee.
Seven members were appointed:

  • For the 1st Supervisorial District, a population-weighted seat, Santa Ana Mayor, Miguel Pulido, was re-selected for two years from January 2017 to December 2018.
  • For the 2nd Supervisorial District, a one city/one vote seat, Los Alamitos Mayor, Richard D. Murphy, was selected for two years from January 2017 to December 2018.
  • For the 2nd Supervisorial District, a population-weighted seat, Huntington Beach Councilmember, Barbara Delgleize, was selected for a term that will commence upon the vacancy of the incumbent and complete the existing term that expires December 31, 2017.
  • For the 3rd Supervisorial District, a population-weighted seat, Orange Mayor Pro Tem, Mark A. Murphy, was selected for two years from January 2017 to December 2018.
  • For the 4th Supervisorial District, a one city/one vote seat, La Habra Mayor Pro Tem, Tim Shaw, was re-selected by acclamation for two years from January 2017 to December 2018.
  • For the 5th Supervisorial District, a one city/one vote seat, San Clemente Councilmember, Lori Donchak, was re-selected by acclamation for two years from January 2017 to December 2018.
  • For the 5th Supervisorial District, a population-weighted seat, Laguna Niguel Mayor, Laurie Davies, was selected by acclamation for a term that will commence upon the vacancy of the incumbent and complete the existing term that expires December 31, 2017.

The City Selection Committee is comprised of mayors from each of Orange County's 34 cities and is administered by the Clerk of the Board of Orange County. The Committee makes appointment to regional boards and commissions like OCTA, the Local Agency Formation Commission and others.
