With funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety, OCTA is hosting free bike skills classes that help adults ride with confidence and understand the rules of the road.
Early last month in Fullerton, riders learned about legal rules for riding and essential bike skills during the day-long class. The national curriculum for the Safe Cycling Class provided training on safe cycling skills, emergency maneuvers, and road etiquette.
Workshops are free and participants will receive a new helmet, bike lights, and refreshments.
In addition, OCTA is offering an advanced three-day class September 20 to 22 for those who want to become League Cycling Instructors to teach bicycle safety and skills to provide increased comfort and confidence for new and returning bicyclists and youth. Attendees must have completed a safe cycling class to receive advanced training. Find out more and register here.
