Beat the Heat! Use Metrolink to Escape to the Beach this Summer

Beat the summer heat with a trip to the region’s best beaches. Traffic can make driving hot and frustrating, and parking near the beach is expensive and tiresome. Fortunately, Metrolink and connecting buses can make the journey relaxing, fun, and inexpensive.

Get your $10 Weekend Day Pass for unlimited rides on Metrolink, which also lets you transfer to OCTA buses at no additional cost to get to your favorite beach.

Take the Orange County or Inland Empire-Orange County lines for direct service to the beaches of San Clemente or Oceanside. From the San Clemente Metrolink Station, you can hop on OCTA Route 1 and head north to Orange County’s famous beaches including Capistrano Beach, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Bolsa Chica State Beach, Sunset Beach or Seal Beach.

Remember, you can bring bikes and surfboards on all Metrolink trains, and any other beach gear, such as chairs or umbrellas are welcome aboard, too.

Enter to win a daytrip for four to fabulous Oceanside including four Metrolink tickets, a $25 gift card to That Boy Good Restaurant, four tickets to the Oceanside Museum of Art, and a one-hour rental from Wheel Fun Rental.
