ARTIC Regional Transportation Center Opens Dec. 6

The City of Anaheim will open the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), a major transportation hub for travel throughout Orange County and beyond, on Dec. 6, 2014. ARTIC provides connections for bus, train, and taxi services.

Minor route adjustments will be made to select OCTA bus routes and Metrolink trains that serve the Anaheim area. After Dec. 5, the Anaheim Station will be closed. Bus route 430 and Metrolink trains will depart from ARTIC, which is directly adjacent to the old station.

To create awareness of these changes for Orange County travelers and commuters, OCTA has launched a comprehensive web page with bus route and Metrolink train change information, signage on buses and at the Anaheim Station, and social media outreach.

ARTIC will celebrate with a grand opening the following weekend on Dec. 13, when the public is invited to come and explore the new facility. With its many connections, ARTIC makes it easy and convenient to travel using public transportation throughout Orange County and other areas of California. In addition to OCTA buses and Metrolink trains, ARTIC is also served by the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, Anaheim Resort Transit (ART), private bus carriers, and taxis.

Many shopping and dining options will be available in the beautiful and iconic building, which will encourage Orange County residents to discover a whole new world of travel. The state-of-the-art structure was designed and constructed with respect to the environment and has a Platinum LEED certification, the highest certification available from the U. S. Green Building Council for rating the sustainability of buildings, homes, and neighborhoods.
