2nd and 3rd District Volunteers Needed to Help Monitor Measure M

OCTA is once again seeking qualified volunteers to serve on the Measure M Taxpayer Oversight Committee (TOC)Applications for the 2017-2020 term will be accepted through May 1, 2017, to fill two positions; one each in the 2nd and 3rd Supervisorial Districts.

The TOC is an independent 11-member committee that monitors OCTA’s use of revenue collected through Measure M2, the county’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements. The TOC is celebrating 10 years of ensuring that all Measure M2 funds are spent on voter-approved transportation projects.

Orange County residents residing in the 2nd and 3rd Supervisorial Districts are eligible to apply. The 2nd District consists of the cities of Costa Mesa, Cypress, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Stanton, and portions of Buena Park and Fountain Valley. The 3rd District consists of the cities of Orange, Tustin, Villa Park, Yorba Linda and portions of Anaheim and Irvine. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be willing to participate for a three-year term. Potential committee members should also demonstrate a history of participating in community activities and knowledge of transportation.

The Grand Jurors Association of Orange County is conducting the TOC recruitment process and will recommend qualified candidates for membership.
